The premise is simple, BigWee puts you in touch with other people who are looking for specific work experience opportunities and may have a work placement to offer you in return.
For example, a student seeking work experience in the creative sector whose parents work at an accountancy firm can offer work experience at the firm to another student and in return they offer work experience in their parents' advertising agency, design studio, PR company, etc. So, it’s a two way process, designed to allow students to exchange opportunities with like minded people and get exactly the kind of work experience they want.
Bigwee also allows companies offering placements and internships to add their details. So even if you think you have nothing to offer another student you are more than likely find something useful.
Work experience opportunities are often few and far between with those few successful candidates using their own limited network of friends and contacts to help generate placement opportunities.
Our research discussions have suggested that most parents would gladly help give some work experience to a schoolchild or student, but only if they thought their our own children might benefit.
If you think you have nothing to offer another student you are still likely to find a company or organisation offering a placement.
